Expo 2020 Dubai, 2020 年ドバイ博覧会

Centered on the theme "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," around 200 countries, organizations, companies and educational institutions shared their ideas on global issues in the pavilions. In the run-up to the world fair, unexpected global challenges of the pandemic had to be suddenly faced which made the planning and construction more difficult. The NUSSLI project teams reorganized themselves, consistently implemented the taken measures, and were able to complete all 10 construction projects – Austria, Baden-Württemberg, Belarus, China, France, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, and Monaco – on schedule. In addition: NUSSLI's pavilion projects have already been nominated and distinguished with awards.

"In our international construction activities, we assume a kind of hub function due to our tasks, but also with our project know-how. This helps us all progress and also drives the projects forward," says Harald Dosch, COO of Special Projects and responsible for NUSSLI's Expo projects.

Distinguished Pavilions

No fewer than five NUSSLI pavilions qualified for one of the coveted BIE Awards, which are presented on the Expo's last day by its umbrella organization, BIE (Bureau International des Expositions). Germany and Kazakhstan received gold and silver in the Theme Interpretation category. Japan also won gold in the Exhibition Design category. Silver and bronze went to Austria and China in the Architecture categories.

約 200 の国、組織、企業、教育機関が、「心をつなぎ、未来を創る」をテーマに、パビリオンで地球規模の問題に関するアイデアを共有しました。そして、万国博覧会に向けた準備段階で、私たちは突然、計画と建設工事を一層困難にするパンデミックという予期せぬ世界的な課題に直面しました。NUSSLI のプロジェクトチームは組織を再編成し、導入された措置を一貫して実行し、バーデンヴュルテンベルク州（ドイツ）、ベラルーシ、中国、ドイツ、フランス、日本、カザフスタン、ルクセンブルグ、モナコ、オーストリアの 10 件の建設プロジェクトのすべてを、スケジュールどおりに完了することができました。さらに、NUSSLI のパビリオンプロジェクトは、BIE アワードにノミネートされ、そして受賞を果たしました。

特別プロジェクトの COO であり、NUSSLI の博覧会プロジェクトの責任者でもあるハラルド・ドッシュ（Harald Dosch）は、「私たちの国際的な建設活動では、私たちの仕事だけでなく、プロジェクトのノウハウにより、一種のハブ機能を想定しています。それが私たちを結びつけ、プロジェクトを前進させるのです。」と言っています。

優れたパビリオン

博覧会 BIE (Bureau International des Expositions) の傘下組織によって博覧会の最終日に授与される BIE アワードの受賞は大変に望ましいものですが、5 つの NUSSLI パビリオンがノミネートされました。ドイツとカザフスタンは、テーマ解釈部門で金賞と銀賞を受賞しました。日本は、展示デザイン部門でやはり金賞を受賞しました。建築部門においては、オーストリアと中国に銀賞と青銅賞が授与されました。

Factors for Success at the Expo Construction Site

With a total of 10 buildings constructed, NUSSLI is the leading company for pavilion construction of all international participants. Building on its great experience with expo pavilions in Shanghai and Milan, it now implemented the country appearances in Dubai with great success and customer value.

As a matter of principle, the NUSSLI teams cultivate forward-looking planning, cultural understanding, and continuous dialog in their daily tasks – regardless of the project site. Experience, flexibility as well as the carefully set up expo project organization and the existing network in the Middle East also contributed to the success of the 10 pavilions in Dubai despite the difficult conditions.
