“Where ideas meet”, the Theme of the Japanese Pavilion. Since ancient times, encounters with external influences have played a key role in the development of Japanese culture and learning. As ideas from the outside have been embraced and reinterpreted to create something new and uniquely Japanese. Moving towards the future, Japan will continue to be a place where ideas from around the world meet. And by bringing these ideas together to spark new innovation, Japan will work to create a better tomorrow.

An otherworldly realm of sights and sounds

Dynamic projections. Dazzling light. An all-new audio experience. Cutting-edge technologies delight all five senses and deliver a next-level immersive experience. Visitors will be guided by their inspiration through an ethereal realm of floating mist and discover the beauty of Japanese scenery, history and ideas as they travel toward an encounter with the innovative ideas that will spark the future.

The Japanese Pavilion is located in the thematic section "Opportunities" and covers an area of approximately 5,200 m2. The concept and design of the exhibit were developed by DENTSU LIVE INC. The contractors were selected by a consortium conformed by two Japanese companies: Tanseisha Co Ltd. and Murayama Inc.. Under the Consortium leading and supervision, NUSSLI will be executing the main exhibit works as well as the associated audio, video, and lighting installations.
