The Lauberhorn Race in Wengen is one of the most traditional and well-known events on the Alpine Ski World Cup circuit. Since 1930, the world’s best ski racers have gathered at the foot of the Lauberhorn, where tens of thousands of spectators watch the legendary races live each year. To ensure that athletes, fans, media, and VIP guests enjoy optimal conditions, NUSSLI constructs the central temporary event structures for this World Cup classic. Each year, approximately 280 metric tons of material are used to integrate grandstands, TV infrastructure, platforms, and other event structures into the alpine landscape.
Temporary grandstands for the Lauberhorn Race
The Lauberhorn Race places special demands on the temporary event infrastructure. The various spectator, media, and organizational areas must blend harmoniously into the existing landscape while meeting the highest safety and quality standards. To this end, NUSSLI has been constructing the finish-line grandstand as well as numerous platforms and event structures along the event grounds every year since 2012. The modular structures provide an optimal view of the finish line and offer tens of thousands of visitors a first-class live experience. Thanks to the flexible modular design, all structures can be precisely adapted to local conditions and efficiently dismantled after the event.

Media Infrastructure for the Ski World Cup
Every year, the Lauberhorn Race captivates millions of viewers at home. To ensure that the spectacular scenes from Hundschopf, the finish slope, and the finish line can be broadcast worldwide, NUSSLI has been erecting numerous TV towers and media platforms along the race course since 2010. The elevated camera locations provide optimal views of the races while also creating safe workspaces for TV crews and photographers. The media structures are complemented by additional technical platforms that support the smooth operation of the international television production. Precise planning and positioning of all structures are crucial to ensuring that sports, safety, and TV production work together seamlessly.
Infrastructure for VIPs and Hospitality
In addition to the spectator and media areas, NUSSLI also constructs spacious VIP platforms and other temporary event structures on the festival grounds. These create high-quality lounge areas for partners, sponsors, and invited guests, complementing the sporting event with professional hospitality services. All temporary structures are functionally coordinated to ensure a safe flow of visitors and efficient event operations. The combination of grandstands, platforms, TV infrastructure, and hospitality solutions has made NUSSLI a key technical partner of the Lauberhorn Race for many years.

Experience from World Cup events and major competitions
With the Lauberhorn Race, NUSSLI has been carrying out one of Europe’s best-known winter sports projects for many years. The experience gained from these annual World Cup events also feeds into numerous other sports projects. These include, among others, the FIS Ski World Cup in Adelboden, international motorsports events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Barcelona as well as major running and triathlon events such as the DATEV Challenge Roth or the BMW Berlin Marathon. Whether on snow, asphalt, or a running track—NUSSLI develops temporary Grandstands, Event Structures and media infrastructures that are precisely tailored to the requirements of international sporting events.
