January 2025 News : Big Air Klagenfurt 2025

On January 4 and 5, 2025, the Wörthersee Stadium opened its doors for the first time for the FIS Freeski & Snowboard Big Air World Cup. Among the highlights of this event, one construction in particular caught the eye: the impressive Big Air ramp, planned and built by NUSSLI.

The construction of the Big Air ramp placed the highest demands on planning and execution. NUSSLI had already installed a 110 metre long and 40 metre high ramp for the Big Air Chur in Switzerland. In Klagenfurt, the tower surpassed this level vertically: With a height of 45m, a length of 105 m and a width of 19 m, it towered almost 5 m above the stadium roof and gave the Wörthersee Stadium a new, striking skyline for two action-packed days.

Precision in detail

The construction consisted of system construction material, the proven and fully reusable construction elements that NUSSLI uses for temporary event buildings and constructions of all kinds. Three lifts were integrated into the structure to take the athletes up to the starting point. The structure was complemented by two PA sound systems and an LED tower, which created an exciting atmosphere. "Our fitters know exactly what is important. The experience and skills of our team from the Big Air Chur project and many other complex event structures guarantee that the ramp met the highest safety standards," emphasizes Gottfried Kaisermayr, Project Manager at NUSSLI.

Action and party

Safe and quick assembly

Within just eight to nine days, the NUSSLI assembly team erected the impressive structure on behalf of the customer Limited Events GmbH. Construction began on December 9, 2024, and everything was ready in time for the event. Dismantling took place quickly after the end of the event so that the stadium could be returned to its original state on January 19, 2025.

The Big Air Klagenfurt 2025 is another example of how innovative event construction concepts and precise realisation turn spectacular events into unforgettable experiences.
