Vive Claro Concert Arena, Bogotá
In 2025, NUSSLI built a new temporary concert arena in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, featuring a U-shaped grandstand structure with seating for just under 18,636 spectators. The Vive Claro Arena was built as a modern venue for national and international concerts and was completed in time for its premiere with Green Day on August 24, 2025. Three NUSSLI branches—from Switzerland, Mexico, and Spain—collaborated to create a concert venue that meets the highest standards for safety, comfort, and functionality.
Construction of Grandstands for International Concerts
The U-shaped Vive Claro concert arena can seat just under 18,636 spectators. The grandstand structure includes 17,300 regular seats as well as VIP sections with a total of 1,336 seats. These are distributed across two exclusive zones, each with 668 seats, and feature separate entrances and their own staircases. The stands begin at a height of approximately 3.5 meters and offer an optimal view of the stage. Visitors can efficiently reach their seats via walkways and corridors.
A distinctive feature of the arena is the integration of 22 retail spaces beneath the stands. This additional use posed specific challenges for the design and structural engineering of the facility. The areas beneath the stands were specifically incorporated into the overall concept, making the arena a versatile venue for large live events.
Engineering for Bogotá's Unique Conditions
Bogotá is located at an elevation of approximately 2,600 meters above sea level, and its climatic conditions pose unique challenges for construction projects. The grandstand structure was therefore designed specifically for local conditions and meets Colombian requirements for environmental, wind, and seismic safety in accordance with the NSR-10 standard.
The design is based on the proven modular NUSSLI system. The grandstands are not permanently anchored to the ground but are constructed as a self-contained modular structure. This principle is also used in major international projects such as motorsports events, the Olympic Games, and large concert arenas. The combination of standardized system components and customized planning enabled a safe and flexible solution that was precisely tailored to the requirements of the Bogotá site.
Ocean Logistics
Construction of the concert arena took place from early April through early July 2025. Coordinating the materials posed a particular challenge: Approximately 70 shipping containers filled with components from Europe had to be transported, temporarily stored, and delivered to the construction site at exactly the right time. In addition, the weather conditions made the work more difficult. Bogotá is known for its changeable weather and frequent rainfall. Despite these challenges, the international project team worked continuously to complete the arena on schedule. The result is a fully functional concert venue that meets the needs of event organizers, artists, and audiences alike.
A concert venue will remain open
The Vive Claro Concert Arena will remain in place long-term and continue to serve as a modern concert venue. Its modular design allows for flexible and sustainable use. Instead of building infrastructure for a single event, an event venue was created that can be used for several years. The project thus demonstrates the potential of modular systems: Temporary construction methods can enable rapid implementation while simultaneously creating long-term solutions for growing event venues.
