The NUSSLI Expo pavilions have been nominated many times and have already received 23 awards
As the leading company for pavilion construction for international participants, upon reflection, NUSSLI considers the 2020 Expo in Dubai to have been a great success. The 10 implemented pavilions proved their excellent construction by means of their nominations and awards. So far, 32 nominations have already led to five BIE awards as well as six winning awards and 12 second and third places.
Opening of the Isarphilharmonie
The new Isarphilharmonie in Munich – a concert hall of superlatives
Munich's Gasteig – Europe's largest cultural center – is being renovated and is therefore temporarily relocating to the interim Gasteig HP8 area in the Sendling district. The first move will be made by the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, which will be based there from October 8, 2021. It will be celebrating its relocation with a grand opening. As a turnkey solutions provider, NUSSLI realized the temporary structure in record time.
Expo Dubai 2020: 10 pavilions for the ideas of tomorrow
Expo 2020 invites the world to Dubai from October 1, 2021 to April 3, 2022. Under the motto "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," 82 pavilions offer space to discover, marvel and experience. In the middle of it, the expo-experienced construction company NUSSLI, which implemented 10 country pavilions from the vision to the punctual opening.
100 Days Until the Expo Opens – the 10 NUSSLI Pavilions are on Track
One year later than originally planned, Expo 2020 will be opening its doors in 100 days. Of the total of around 200 exhibition pavilions, those of 10 countries will be realized using know-how and extensive Expo experience from NUSSLI.
An observation tower made of clay for the Brickworks Museum in Cham (CH)
As part of a sustainability project, an observation tower made of the natural building material clay was constructed for the Brickworks Museum in Cham. NUSSLI's in-house wood production and metal workshop in Hüttwilen were actively involved in the project and supplied the nearly nine-meter-high spiral staircase as well as the special folding gate and the wooden viewing platform.
Thunderdome for the FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Graz
On May 26, the FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Graz starts. For this tournament NUSSLI is awarded to construct the one-of-a-kind “Thunderdome” arena on the Main Square in Graz.
Expo 2020 Dubai: Structural Work on German Pavilion Now Complete
With eight months to go until Expo 2020 Dubai opens on 1 October 2021, structural work on the German Pavilion site is almost finished, bringing the Federal Republic of Germany one key step closer to the completion of its showcase for the world exhibition. “Reaching this stage is always a major milestone. In the past few months, we’ve been confronted with challenges we’d never have even considered,” says Dietmar Schmitz, Commissioner General of the German Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, discussing how construction has progressed during the pandemic. “I’m deeply impressed by how everyone involved has pushed on with the structural work in such a professional and reliable manner – despite all the difficulties facing them.” An average of 166 construction workers have been on the site every day since August 2019, clocking up around 472,000 hours as they erected CAMPUS GERMANY under the supervision of construction firm NUSSLI Adunic.
