BOSS OPEN, Stuttgart
The BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart is one of Germany’s most historic grass-court tennis tournaments and is a fixture on the ATP Tour. Year after year, top international players prepare for Wimbledon at the TC Weissenhof facility and compete for the tournament title in front of thousands of tennis fans. Since 2018, NUSSLI has been providing the temporary event structures for the tournament, enhancing the existing tennis facility with high-quality grandstand and hospitality solutions. The modular structures create additional capacity for spectators, sponsors, and partners and help ensure that Center Court meets the requirements of an international ATP tournament.
Temporary bleachers for Center Court
International tennis tournaments require flexible infrastructure to accommodate growing spectator numbers and meet high standards of comfort and safety. For the first implementation in 2018, NUSSLI expanded the center court at TC Weissenhof with a premium grandstand offering 1,310 spectator seats. The grandstand was integrated into the existing stadium and blended harmoniously with the existing architecture. Thanks to the modular construction system, the additional capacity was created within just a few days. Since then, NUSSLI has supported the tournament annually, ensuring that spectators can enjoy grass-court tennis from the best vantage points.
Infrastructure for Sponsors and Partners
In addition to the spectator stands, NUSSLI is constructing other temporary event structures to support the professional execution of the tournament. During the first installation, the company built a vehicle platform for sponsor presentations as well as a substructure—including cladding—for a large-scale LED wall. Today, the infrastructure is complemented by a sky platform in the VIP area, as well as other temporary structures tailored to the needs of the organizers, sponsors, and media. In this way, NUSSLI combines sports, hospitality, and brand presentation into a cohesive overall concept.
Event Setup in a Small Space
The temporary event infrastructure is set up during the tournament’s intensive preparation phase and requires precise coordination among all trades involved. Back in 2018, the NUSSLI team installed approximately 100 metric tons of system materials—delivered in six truckloads—in just five days. Narrow access roads, limited assembly areas, and the simultaneous work of other service providers required precise planning and ongoing coordination. Thanks to many years of experience in modular event construction, the entire infrastructure was completed on schedule and without disrupting tournament operations.
Temporary tennis arenas for ATP and WTA tournaments
The BOSS OPEN is one of many international tennis projects that NUSSLI carries out each year. These include, among others, the Mutua Madrid Open, the ATP Geneva Open as well as the Strasbourg International Tournament. Each tournament has its own specific requirements for spectator capacity, hospitality areas, and temporary event structures. With flexible grandstand solutions, high-quality VIP areas, and precise project management, NUSSLI creates customized infrastructure for international ATP and WTA tournaments and ensures that existing tennis facilities are transformed into professional tournament arenas every year.
