The ATP 250 Geneva Open is one of Switzerland’s most prestigious clay-court tournaments and serves as the sporting highlight each year immediately preceding the French Open. Top international players use the tournament at the Tennis Club de Genève as their final preparation for the Grand Slam tournament in Paris. To ensure that this historic tennis facility meets the requirements of an international ATP tournament, NUSSLI expands it annually with a comprehensive temporary stadium infrastructure. Grandstands, VIP boxes, and media and production areas create optimal conditions for players, organizers, sponsors, and several thousand tennis fans.

Modular Stadium Solutions for ATP Tournaments

During the ATP Geneva Open, the existing tennis facility undergoes a fundamental transformation. Every year, temporary grandstands are erected around Center Court, turning the venue into a full-fledged tournament arena. The West Stand, with 870 seats; the East Stand, with 1,384 seats; and the South Stand, with 712 folding chairs, significantly expand the spectator capacity. The infrastructure is complemented by box seating areas on the east and west sides, as well as a box seating stand on the north side. Thanks to the modular design, all structures can be precisely adapted to the existing facility without permanently altering its character. This creates a temporary tennis arena anew each year that meets international standards for comfort, safety, and functionality.

High-Quality Hospitality Solutions

In addition to the spectator stands, NUSSLI is also constructing extensive hospitality and media areas. In total, several hundred box seats with a direct view of Center Court are being created, providing exclusive areas for sponsors, partners, and guests. The infrastructure is complemented by production and TV platforms, support structures for LED technology, and accessible spectator areas with wheelchair-accessible platforms. All elements are functionally interconnected and support professional tournament operations. As a result, not only do on-site visitors benefit from short distances and optimal viewing conditions, but the media and event organizers also benefit from a high-performance infrastructure for live productions and event management.

Logistics in Confined Spaces

The entire event infrastructure is assembled within a few days immediately before the tournament begins. In particular, integrating the temporary structures into the existing tennis complex places high demands on planning and logistics. The individual grandstands, boxes, and technical platforms must be positioned with millimeter precision to ensure that spectator pathways, emergency exits, and operational areas function optimally. After the final weekend, the entire infrastructure is dismantled within a short period of time. Thanks to well-established processes and many years of experience, NUSSLI is able to carry out the extensive construction work reliably and on schedule every year.
