The closing of the World Expo in Osaka marks the end of an impressive showcase of the nations – and right in the middle of it all: a great deal of Swiss engineering skill. The Thurgau-based company NUSSLI was responsible for the construction of five national pavilions, once again setting international standards in terms of temporary construction, precision and creativity. In addition to the Swiss pavilion, NUSSLI also realized the pavilions for Austria, Uzbekistan, Brazil and Kuwait. And four of the five pavilions won awards in various categories at the renowned BIE Awards in various categories.
Under the motto "Designing Future Society for Our Lives", the World Expo 2025 in Osaka was all about innovation, sustainability and international exchange. Right in the middle of the action: the Thurgau-based company NUSSLI, which was responsible for the construction of five national pavilions – for Switzerland, Austria, Uzbekistan, Brazil and Kuwait.

The five nations interpreted the Expo motto in their own way and implemented their visions architecturally with the support of NUSSLI. In doing so, the Swiss company not only brought precision and engineering skills to Japan but also made an active contribution to the global dialog about the future of our society.

BIE Awards: International Recognition for NUSSLI
The winners of the Official Participant Awards were selected by an international jury consisting of nine experts from various relevant fields. The jury visited each international pavilion at the Expo during two sessions in May and October 2025.
At the presentation of the prestigious BIE Awards, NUSSLI's performance was recognized in several ways: four pavilions, in the implementation of which the Thurgau-based com-pany played a key role, received awards. Particularly noteworthy is the Uzbekistan pavil-ion, which was awarded gold for Thematic Development. The Brazilian pavilion also im-pressed the jury and was awarded silver in the Thematic Development (modular pavilions) category. The Swiss pavilion was awarded bronze in the Architecture & Landscape category, while the Austrian pavilion received bronze for Exhibition Design.
These awards impressively underline the international recognition for Swiss engineering skills and precision in temporary construction, as NUSSLI impressively demonstrated at the Expo in Osaka.

After its successful presence in Osaka, NUSSLI is already looking ahead: The company is already making strategic preparations for the Specialized Expo 2027 in Belgrade and the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
