Laying of the foundation stone in Monheim

On September 6, the school community of the Berliner Ring School Center in Monheim celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for the eight-sport gymnasium. The ceremony took place on the already partially concreted foundation.

September 2023

The new eight-sport hall will be part of a school center that will also be further remodeled and expanded for the future in the coming years. Together with students, Udo Baader, Head of Project Management at the NUSSLI Group, concreted a time capsule into the foundation stone. In addition to a daily newspaper, the time capsule also contains thoughts from the students on how they imagine teaching in the future and what current teaching looks like. The Otto Hahn Gymnasium, in turn, has enclosed a current curriculum.

The hall is scheduled for completion as early as August 2024. The hall will also be available to Monheim clubs in the evenings and on weekends. Four hall units will be arranged on each of two levels, which can be interconnected as needed. Sports operations can thus take place in eight individual hall segments, for example, as well as in two quadruple halls.
