Pope Benedict XVI visited the city of Freiburg on September 24 and 25, 2011 as part of his tour through Germany. About 100,000 faithful catholics made pilgrimages to the airport grounds to see the pontiff up close and personal. The Pope adddressed the crowd there from an altar island built by NUSSLI.
