In addition to the longest red carpet in the world, a total of 25 stages extended across the huge festival grounds of the BigCityBeats WORLD CLUB DOME — or WCD for short. On behalf of BigCityBeats GmbH, NUSSLI erected several event structures, including DJ booths, delay towers, FOH, and both the open-air “Zombie Stage” and the heart of the festival — the main stage — right in the middle of the Commerzbank-Arena. The 20-meter-high and 80-meter-wide stage construction spanned the entire width of the stadium.
Since the arena was needed for another event just before the WCD and already had to be available for the next project a few days after the WCD, the assembly and disassembly times for the event structures were very short. A logistical challenge the NUSSLI Germany project team was happy to face head-on.
A record-breaking club
For some years now, the WCD has been one of the largest events in Germany. And the WCD broke its own visitor record once again this year: Around 160,000 music fans traveled to the metropolis of Frankfurt from June 1 to 3 to experience BigCityBeats first hand.
