In preparation for documenta 14 in Kassel, NUSSLI realized a walk-in scaffolding structure measuring 30 x 66 meters, which will serve as the basic framework for “The Parthenon of Books”, designed by the artist Marta Minujín. This structure will subsequently be cladded with books from all over the world, which either were banned in the past but in print again today or continue to be prohibited.
The Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens is one of the most famous ancient Greek monuments still in existence. The idea for “The Parthenon of Books” in Kassel is derived from the “Partenón de Libros”, which was built in Buenos Aires in 1983.
