One wooden module after another is carefully hoisted to its designated position. A total of 8000 individual wooden components are being used to construct the pop-up TED theater with an integrated grandstand holding 1200 people. The greatest challenge is the tight schedule, as well as the elaborate logistics.
The TED Conference deals with almost all conceivable global issues, from science to the economy — and in more than 100 languages. The basic rule is: Philosophers, authors, artists, designers, scientists, and other experts from all over the world are each given 18 minutes to speak.
