NUSSLI fitted a standing room grandstand within the existing grandstand facility of the Chiemgau Arena and created nearly 10,000 additional spectator seats for this event.
What made the job so special was the requirement to clear the site of snow. In order to address this, the project team covered the grandstands with tarpaulins beforehand. This caused the 90 cm of fresh snow that fell over New Year's to slide forward onto the race course, at the same time improving the snow conditions on the track.
