The 3x3 basketball qualifying games for the 2021 Olympic Games took place in the middle of Graz's main square. That is where NUSSLI constructed the "Thunderdome" - a unique, two-level outdoor arena with exclusive boxes each accommodating groups of eight fans.
The boxes ensured a complete live experience without intermixing groups of fans. Beverages and snacks could be ordered via smartphones and enjoyed at the assigned seats. This way, all required Corona safety protocols could be met and the audience enjoyed the exciting 3-on-3 games up close. NUSSLI implemented this unique temporary outdoor arena on behalf of the Austrian Basketball Association. It was part of a green and sustainable tournament concept.
