The 2025 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm were among the most significant winter sports events of the year. More than 150,000 spectators and approximately 600 athletes from around 70 nations watched the races in person. NUSSLI built the temporary event infrastructure in the finish area, thereby laying the groundwork for a safe, functional, and impressive event.
At the heart of the project were three temporary grandstands with a total of approximately 13,500 standing-room-only seats. They offered spectators an excellent view of the finish area and created an impressive atmosphere along the race track throughout the World Championships. The modular Grandstand Systems NUSSLI’s solutions can be flexibly adapted to the terrain, available space, and capacity requirements. This results in safe spectator areas that are highly functional and can be constructed quickly—ideal conditions for international sporting events and large-scale temporary events.
In addition to the spectator stands, NUSSLI constructed a high-quality VIP area in the finish zone. It provided sponsors, partners, and distinguished guests with an exclusive setting from which to watch the races up close. The infrastructure was supplemented by camera towers and other technical structures for media and TV productions. These ensured optimal viewing angles for national and international live broadcasts and helped make the races accessible to an audience of millions worldwide.

International winter sports events place the highest demands on infrastructure, logistics, and safety. In the finish area of a World Ski Championship, spectator stands, hospitality areas, media infrastructure, and technical facilities must work together seamlessly. At the same time, alpine locations require precise planning, as the terrain, weather, and tight time frames significantly influence the construction process. For the 2025 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, NUSSLI developed and implemented a custom-designed event infrastructure that was precisely tailored to the organizer’s requirements.
Construction of the temporary event infrastructure began as early as October 2024. Working in alpine terrain requires precise planning and a high degree of flexibility, as weather conditions, snowfall, and topographical features can affect the construction process at any time. Thanks to NUSSLI’s many years of experience in constructing temporary event structures, all work was completed on schedule. The modular design enabled efficient assembly while ensuring the highest safety standards for visitors, athletes, staff, and the media.
