Grandstands, stadiums and arenas

The 2026 Schwyz Cantonal Schwing and Alpine Festival brought Schwing wrestlers, Alpine athletes, and numerous spectators to Brunnen on Lake Lucerne. Against the impressive backdrop of mountains and the lake, Switzerland’s national sport took center stage for a day. To ensure the audience could watch the competitions and the final bout from the best vantage point, NUSSLI constructed a temporary grandstand, creating the perfect setting for this traditional Schwing festival.

Schwingen combines tradition and community

Swiss wrestling festivals are among Switzerland’s most important traditions. They combine athletic competition with customs, regional identity, and social gatherings. From small regional wrestling festivals to the Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival, these events attract tens of thousands of visitors every year. It’s not just what happens in the sawdust ring that plays a central role. The atmosphere around the festival grounds also makes every Schwingfest a special experience. To ensure that as many spectators as possible can watch the matches up close, flexible Grandstand Solutions an important part of modern wrestling festivals.

Grandstand for the Schwing Festival in Brunnen

For the Schwyz Cantonal Schwing and Alpine Festival, NUSSLI constructed the entire spectator grandstand with 339 seats. The structure was precisely tailored to the festival grounds and offered visitors an elevated view of the Schwing arena and the final bout. The grandstand was assembled on May 8, 2026, before being put to use on the day of the event, May 17. The entire structure was dismantled the very next day. Thanks to its modular design, the grandstand could be erected in a very short time and completely dismantled after the event without leaving any permanent alterations to the festival grounds.

Temporary infrastructure for one-day events

Many Schwing festivals take place at venues that lack permanent spectator infrastructure. Temporary grandstands make it possible to set up venues specifically for the duration of the event and then restore them to their original condition afterward. This flexibility is one of the greatest advantages of modular grandstand systems. They can be adapted to a wide variety of space constraints, meet high safety standards, and can be reused at another location after the event. This results in cost-effective and sustainable solutions for sporting events of all sizes.

Experience ranging from regional Schwing festivals to the Swiss National Schwing Festival

Swing festivals have been among NUSSLI’s recurring projects for many years. The company carries out Temporary bleachers and arenas both for regional and cantonal Schwing festivals and for major national events. This was particularly evident in the Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ESAF) 2025, for which NUSSLI built one of Switzerland’s largest temporary Schwing arenas, with seating for over 56,000 spectators. At the same time, the company’s range of services also includes smaller events such as the Schwyz Cantonal Schwing and Alpine Festival in Brunnen. Regardless of the event’s size, NUSSLI develops customized grandstand solutions that are optimally tailored to the specific venue and the number of visitors.
