Opel, IAA Frankfurt

“Mobility connects” was the motto of the leading International Motor Show, IAA 2015, in Frankfurt. A total of 931,700 visitors from around the world accepted an invitation to take an up-close look at the latest models and technologies of the most prestigious car manufacturers from September 17 to 27, 2015.
For the IAA in Frankfurt, which is one of the largest and most important international automobile exhibitions in the world, the presentations have to be something really special. This was, of course, what the decision-makers in the ranks of Adam Opel AG were thinking. AMBROSIUS constructed the trade fair booth for Opel Adam according to the design concept drafted by Bellprat Associates AG. The NUSSLI Group company was responsible for the planning, production, assembly and disassembly of the booth. After a two and a half month planning phase, the ten-day assembly work, which included day and night shifts, started in early September.
The two-story trade fair booth extended over a total area of 3,580 square meters and included a souvenir shop as well as meeting and VIP rooms in addition to the exhibition areas.
The new stand concept involved the processing of new material in combination with existing stock material within a short construction timeframe. However, the greatest challenge was the shape of the stand. The two-story building had many curved walls and few right angles, which required high-precision work on the part of the crew. In addition, the ground floor consisted of large, column-free areas which required the developmentof a solution with large, self-supporting intervals.
