Since 2014, NUSSLI has been providing the central event infrastructure for the Stars in Town Festival in Schaffhausen. With the main stage, hospitality and spectator platforms, and other temporary structures, NUSSLI creates the conditions for a festival experience that delights tens of thousands of visitors each year. The particular challenge lies in the venue: The festival takes place in the heart of Schaffhausen’s historic old town, where every installation must be precisely planned and carefully executed.
An Open-Air Atmosphere in the Old Town
Stars in Town is one of Switzerland’s best-known music festivals. For several days, Schaffhausen’s Old Town is transformed into a lively festival grounds featuring international stars, Swiss artists, and a diverse supporting program. The unique atmosphere is created by the interplay of live music and the historic backdrop surrounding the Herrenacker. At the same time, the venue places high demands on the planning of temporary infrastructure. Narrow access roads, limited space, and the need to protect existing buildings require precise logistics and perfectly coordinated construction processes. Thanks to its many years of experience, NUSSLI reliably meets these requirements and seamlessly integrates the temporary structures into the cityscape.

Temporary Solutions for the Highest Standards
At the heart of the infrastructure is the Tower main stage, featuring a 16 × 10-meter performance area. It is complemented by a pre-rig that enables efficient stage operations and quick set changes. In addition, NUSSLI is constructing a hospitality platform, the Starzone platform with an integrated front-of-house (FOH) area and camera platform, an IV platform, a spotlight tower, and an additional platform on Frauengasse. All structures are designed to meet the demands of a multi-day music festival. They create optimal conditions for artists, technical crews, media, organizers, and visitors, while ensuring safe and efficient festival operations.
