Schlager Open Air “The Mountain Is Shaking!”, Flumserberg
Since 2011, NUSSLI has been providing temporary event infrastructure for the “Der Berg bebt!” Schlager Open Air festival in Flumserberg. For this annual music festival, NUSSLI constructs, among other things, the open-air stage, a two-story FOH booth for technical direction, and a spacious VIP and sponsor platform. These various structures provide the spatial framework for concert production, technical operations, and hospitality, and are tailored to the festival’s specific requirements.
Open-air stage for live music in Flumserberg
At the heart of the infrastructure is the open-air stage. It provides the technical and spatial framework for the artists’ performances and is designed to meet the requirements of live outdoor productions. The structure accommodates the stage technology and creates a clearly defined interface between the artists’ area, the production team, and the audience. Especially for a recurring open-air festival, a stage solution must function reliably while also being able to adapt flexibly to each specific production. The system components used by NUSSLI can be adapted to meet different requirements and enable efficient solutions for events of various sizes and formats.
Two-story FOH for technical production
In addition to the stage, NUSSLI’s scope of work also includes a two-story FOH. The Front of House is located in the audience area and serves as the central control center for the event’s technical operations. From here, sound and lighting systems are operated and live production workflows are coordinated, among other tasks. The two-story design creates additional work and technical areas within a compact space. This integrates the necessary production infrastructure into the temporary event architecture without unnecessarily disrupting activities in the audience area.
41-meter VIP and sponsor platform
For the VIP and sponsor area, NUSSLI constructed a 41-meter-long and 15-meter-wide platform for SGKB and Auto Walser. Such platform structures can be adapted to the spatial conditions and the desired usage concept. They can serve as the foundation for VIP areas, sponsor spaces, or other hospitality solutions, combining a functional structure with a clearly organized visitor area.
Experience with recurring stage construction
The “Der Berg bebt!” Schlager Open Air is an example of a long-standing partnership in the field of temporary event infrastructure. Since 2011, NUSSLI has been working in Flumserberg on a recurring basis, bringing its experience from numerous events to bear in the planning and implementation. With recurring events, it’s not just about reliably erecting a structure every year, but also about further developing existing solutions and adapting them to changing requirements.
NUSSLI also applies this expertise to other open-air and music events. The spectrum ranges from compact festival stages and technical platforms to large-scale stage structures for international concert productions. This results in Stages and Event Structures, which can be adapted to the specific event in terms of size, amenities, and use.
