July 2026 News NUSSLI is building grandstands, hospitality areas, and bridges for the new Formula 1 racetrack in Madrid
NUSSLI is supplying key temporary structures for the inaugural Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix at the new MADRING racetrack surrounding the IFEMA Madrid exhibition center. The Spanish Grand Prix is returning to the capital for the first time since 1981 and will take place from September 11 to 13, 2026. For the event, NUSSLI is constructing spectator grandstands, hospitality buildings, and pedestrian bridges.
For the race weekend, NUSSLI will set up spectator grandstands along the track in the Gold, Silver, Silver Plus, and Bronze categories—either covered or open-air, with standard and premium seats for enhanced comfort. Together, they offer over 92,000 seats, including special accessible platforms for spectators with limited mobility and their companions.
Hospitality area overlooking turns 2 and 3
Behind the grandstands at Turns 2 and 3, the hospitality area is taking shape: two modular buildings, each 12 meters high, with ten skyboxes and two catering modules. Each 25-square-meter skybox opens onto its own terrace with seating, allowing guests to watch the race outdoors. Two staircases and two elevators—one for the public and one for staff—connect the different levels. At street level, there is a reception area and a fully equipped modular kitchen for catering.
Madrid is welcoming Formula 1 back after more than four decades, and we are proud to be helping shape this comeback. Ensuring that spectators can get close to the action safely and on time is exactly what we do best.
Bridges Over the Race Track
When the cars are on the track, the circuit divides the grounds. Thirteen pedestrian bridges allow spectators to cross the track during race weekends. With spans of up to 30 meters, they span the widest sections of the track. NUSSLI handles the planning, transportation, assembly, disassembly, and rental of the bridges and equips them with cladding, lighting, safety nets, and elevators. They are also designed to accommodate LED screens.
