Under the motto "Wherever God is, there is a future," the head of the Catholic Church will hold two open-air masses for an anticipated 100,000 believers. NUSSLI has been tasked with the construction of a 2,200 square meter, roofed altar island for this large-scale event on the grounds of the Freiburg airfield. The structure included an elevator from the Pope's sacristy directly to the main stage. The complex roof structure with a 16 meter clear overhang was a challenge for the installation team, particularly as they have to meet high architectural and technical requirements.
