NUSSLI has been building a temporary arena for Switzerland’s largest sporting event, the Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival, every year since 1961. This year’s “Arène de la Broye” on the military airfield in Payerne broke all records once again: With more than 52,000 grandstands, it is the world’s largest temporary grandstand facility ever built for a three-day event. The nearly 3,000 tons of system material from NUSSLI branches across Europe were transported to Payerne on 150 trucks. The imposing structure was then assembled by 10 NUSSLI technicians along with 80 helpers from the Swiss army in just eight weeks despite being plagued by adverse weather conditions.
