Stand for BMW on the IAA, Frankfurt

For the first time ever, the BMW display was located in Europe's most state-of-the-art exhibition hall at the 63rd International Motor Show 2009 in Frankfurt. On an area totaling 23,000 square meters, the BMW Group was even able to present their brands MINI and Rolls-Royce under one roof. In June, NUSSLI  received the contract to implement the concept of the two-level exhibition stand with an integrated, more than 100-meter-long roadway. A project of this scope including a dynamic roadway is a milestone in both the history of NUSSLI as well as the IAA in Frankfurt. This marked a premiere: never before had cars that were being driven been permitted for presentation in an exhibition hall.

While the 9,000 square meter floor area was outfitted with system materials, the surfaces were eye-catching with their high quality workmanship. In order to make the two floors accessible to the visitors, NUSSLI engineers installed an escalator. In addition, the BMW display was enhanced with a 360 degree sound system and a 1,200 square meter LED area, where interactive films could be shown. The goal on the part of BMW, was to make the design and impact of the new models come alive during their trips down the track with its steep turn.

This complex project was realized in only four weeks by 120 assembly operators, who installed a total of 2,000 tons of material on site. Dismantling only took a period of 1.5 weeks.

With NUSSLI's know-how, BMW was not only able to create a unique presentation area for its world innovations, the audience raved about their exciting, new exhibition experience at the BMW stand.
